Bob,
I recently started the C6 Z06 kit. I know there are final assembly issues, can you explain what they are?

Thanks,

DaveT

Looking at the model and digging deep into my fuzzy memory, there was interference between the hood hinge retainer and the piece that serves as the radiator top and the intake. You'll need to do some fitting/trimming of the hinge retainer and also the forward facing part of the radiator top-it's not going to be seen anyway. Interference in this area will cause the chassis to not seat correctly-it will sit too high in front, but if it's slid back a bit it will set at the right height, but will be shifted back too far so that the wheels aren't centered and even the rear valance of the chassis will jut outwards. I've seen a lot of C6's built like this, some said there was intereference w/the headlight buckets, but if you have the headlight elements fit properly into the buckets, there was no interference there. I'm pretty sure these are the same parts in the Z06 as the C6.

Also, you may have to re-center the wheels slightly (I used Ferrari 430 Challenge rims, so your mileage may vary), and the windshield was a very tight fit, check cowl clearance and you may want to do some trimming there. Nothing out of the ordinary, you shouldn't have many problems w/the kit.

An easier fix for that hood problem is to build it curbside and glue that hood down like me.

Revell even makes a curbside Z06 now :)

Meanwhile, my Jada Z06 has such blah underhood detail I'll probably curbside it; it'll be painted Aston Martin green and wear Infiniti FX wheels anyway
