Flipping through my latest Scale Auto magazine, I got to page 50 and saw a black and white photo of a new Mustang. Before really looking at the car, I focused on the wheels/tires...which looked like they didn't fit under the front of the car terribly well, and then my mind said "that wheel is a terrible representation of a GT-500 wheel"...then I looked at the description...GT500 KR! Revell just sneaked in another variation of the new Mustang, the GT500 KR  Someone mentioned it looked like they used the tires from the Magnum kit.
Ad says "September 08". We shall see. Looks decent, but honestly I think Jada nailed the Mustang front end better than Revell...something on the Revell kit looks like the headlight area is a bit "squashed". Time will tell...late July the GT500 and GT350-H will be out.

I'm wondering if Revell has decided to only announce just a few months prior to production. When you think about it, the KR would only have a few pieces different than the "regular" GT500 (wheels, lower grille, upper grille badge). The side badging will likely be accomplished with decals, and the different air intake is already in the GT-H, so no extra cost there.
Has anyone heard what colors the KR will be available in? I've only seen pictures of the prototype silver/blue stripes and red/black stripes.

I haven't seen any list, but there's a red one in the following article:

The shape of the kit's wheels seems to mimick the KR show car rims rather than the production car rims. The tires have too much sidewall.
Looking at the sticker from a KR on Feebay, about 35K for the KR package by Shelby. Meaning about 30K pure profit before the 20-50K profit gouge by the dealer. If the owners are walking gingerly, one can surely understand

Kevin, you forgot the dealer gouge! :) And I forgot the most obvious change, the hood.

Lol! True. he Ford Shelby GT500 lists for $44,425. The source I am using tested a car that came in at $47,210. So for $47,210 you get to-60 in 4.3 seconds, 500 HP and 480LB.FT of torque. With 14/20 MPG. The KR comes in at $79,995, and with that extra $32,785(plus extra fees from the dealer) you get 40 more HP, 30 more LB.FT of torque and you get to 60 in.. wait.. 4.3 seconds? So we added 40 HP and 30 LB.FT, and we still have the same 0-60?? Blame the extra weight. Well, at least you get exclusitivity. Only 1000 KR's will be built for 2008. Yes, the wheels do look similar to the magum kit's. But comparing the picture in SA to my handy motor trend issue showed that they are exactly the same. Since those wheels on the Magnum kit weren't stock- could they have just added them as aftermarket flashy wheels. Was the GT500 KR tooled before the Magnum at the same time as the GT500, and they just stole the KR wheels and threw them in the Magnum? -kevin

Kevin, the tires...not the wheels, are from the Magnum.

Oh, well I built a Magnum and chose not to use the stock wheels- and these came with it:
