Below is a project that I started over 2 years ago. I picked the project back up and have made some good progress on it.

In the beginning I thought a soft-top look would be fitting, but after it was on the car, I didn't like it. Too big of a car for a soft-top convertible.

So i decided to make the cover flush and solid similar to what you'd see on a Mercedes.

After some scratch building, and putty sanding I had a part a little more fitting

I attached some 'L' shaped styrene to the inside of the body to hold my new cover in place. I snipped it on the bottom to help it curve to the body.

The absense of glass left a noticeable gap between the interior tub and the body. So I added some strip styrene to the body to fill that gap.

The mirrors attach to the side glass, which I had to cut as i'm not placing the side windows on. It was glued to the body, ready for mirrors

I will be using 20" wheels on this car, and the ride height needed to be adjusted a bit. An easy solution was to glue some styrene to the back of a resin brake disk, and remove the mounting pins on the spindles/hubs. they can be glued on very easily this way, at any height I choose.

These are not the wheels I will be using, but they will be 20" as these are

Bringing this project back to life has really given me the modeling bug. I have 3 Ferraris in the works.

Thanks guys. I tested the 2 colors I'm planning on using last night to see if they would work well together, and they do. So this car will be Tamiya light gunmetal over Tamiya metallic black.

Now in technicolor. It still needs some clear.

Man something was wrong with your light gun metal, it turned red after you sprayed it over the metallic black LOL.

Looks great Matt.

Yeah, the light gunmetal seemed a bit bland for me. The red made it easier to come up with a nice interior paint scheme.

Its been cleared and polished now and WOW! It really popped.
