Here is another project I've been working on for some time. I finally had a chance to paint the body, and get it ready for decals.

This is Tamiya's first ever motorcycle kit. It was reissued recently with Cartograph decals when they released their 100th motorcycle kit. Ironically enough #100 was a Yamaha as well. It's not quite as detailed as their modern efforts, but it is not lacking. The actual bike was simpler compared to todays MotoGP bikes too.

This is what the final product should look like.

I have all 3 colors painted, and the body is awaiting decals.

I've never had much luck with masking and spraying bodys, but I'm super happy with this paint job. Tonight I'll start getting the engine painted, and assembled.

This bike is amazing in action. Click below if you wanna see Kenny racing Barry Sheene. I love the hand signals used at 3:50. :)

Matt:

You are definitely keeping busy in Florida, you are going to need a trailer to come to the show.

Thanks guys. I did get all the parts painted. Some minor detail painting and assembly, and this bike will be done.

After taking the better part of a month off from work to recover from MRSA, I don't know if I'll be able to make it to the show this year. I used up all my vacation, sick, personal time, and then some. I'm hoping to be able to go, but will have to let the boss at work decide.

I managed to assemble 90% of this bike last night. I plan on finishing it up this weekend.

I love the pipes on this bike. Very cool how they are all over the place. I'm not to happy with the wheels. I'm probably gonna add a wash to them. They're a little to bright.

The motorcycle contingent is growing, I think we will have a good turn out.

The cowling on this bike doesn't fit over the engine! I test fit the pins that hold the cowling on 10 times without the engine in the frame and it all lined up perfectly. Now the engine is too wide for the body
