AMT is supposedly doing a kit of the new Camaro concept.

Someone on Hobby Heaven already thinks there's going to be a Challenger inside the box instead :D

That would be a laugh :o :D

Seriously, I love the Camaro concept. Glad to see a model of it coming. Wouldn't think twice about buying it.

So, if they put the Challenger in the box what are the chances that the Camaro will even be on the box art??

If it's AMT, there's a 100% guarantee there will be a major screwup.

Boxart of Camaro Concept? Perhaps a '70 Challenger CV will be inside. Or it will have a Hemi. Who knows. Money could be made making wagers on just what, and how bad, the screwups will be.

Dunno 'bout anyone else, but I'm thinking COPO theme on my '06 Camaro Concept. Rally Green, poverty caps...those'll have to be machined as I'm sure the originals will look puny on the concept car. Lots of aftermarket potential for 19-22 inch pro-heritage (pro-touring sizes w/retro centers) look rims...rally, COPO....

That will be cool Bob.
My plans are for turning it into a Pontiac Trans Am sans big screaming hood bird.
The more I look at that car I see more Pontiac ques than anything else. Either that or it's just that I'd rather see a Trans Am.

The COPO idea is pretty cool, Bob. Of course then you could do all of the dealer specials like Baldwin- Motion, Yenko, Dana, Berger. That thing would look great with Motion stripes and the Stinger hood scoop off of the 67 big Block Corvette. Daytona Yellow, Yellow houndstooth deluxe interior trim, 20" Torquethrusts.......hmmmmmmm.

Of all the latest retro concepts I like the Camaro best....dunno if I'll get the kit....but if so I'd build it stock.

A firebird conversion would be a natural too. It would be along the lines of the Chevelle SS conversion doe to the GTO that was displayed at a bunch of car shows.

Only if it's done right. That Chevelle certainly wasn't. Harley Earl projectile-vomited in his grave over that fugly hack job. It's not hard to improve on the GTO, but that Chevelle made the GTO look stunning.

I'm going to agree with Bob, the Chevelle based off of the GTO was a horrid vehicle. I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with it at the Car Craft Nationals in Minneapolis. I took my pictures and walked away.
Everything was GTO except the changes to the outer skin, wheels and the guy who thought he had taste. The 57 Chevy with 8 turbos got more publicity and looks. But that was COOL.
I'm hoping I have better taste when I do my conversion. I'm sure a few concept kits will lose their lives in the building process. It'll be my first attempt at major putty throwing.

Thought I would go ahead and show the Chevelle for those who happily forgot the styling:

I think my fuzzy finger print in the top left looks great....

In all it's horrific glory there are certainly a lot of people with questionable taste who think it's beautiful. I fight the urge to be crass enough to design something so awful as a joke simply because I knew a certain slice of the population would eat it up and leave me laughing all the way to the bank.
