I want to air brush after 12 or more years off and I have some questions. I have a Badger 150 and a new compressor with a tank with moisture trap. Questions: What air pressure should I use for gloss paint? What should I use to clean air brush, I will be using Tamiya and Krylon spray can paint. Do I need to do anything but spray the cleaner until it sprays clear, especially during a painting session using differant color paints. Any tips on how to get the paint from the can to a bottle and how long to let it decant. Any other suggestions?

Air pressure depends on the gloss paint; it can range from 10 to 30 pounds. The lower the pressure, the better the gloss, as long as the paint is thinned enough to flow well, otherwise you'll get orange peel. I don't have a pressure gauge.
Acetone and lacquer thinner are good to clean the airbrush, and both will likely help to thin the paints as well, of course you should test it before you spray a real project. Get a box of white plastic spoons and test your paints, thinning, etc. on them to get a good idea of how your airbrush sprays. Practice, practice, practice!

When I decant Tamiya, I go through a process to get out the dissolved gases.
I tighten the cap on the jar and give it a half shake (down but not up). Then I loosen the lid. There will be a pssssssssst of gas. Tighten the cap and repeat. After about 10 half shakes, you can go up to full shakes (up and down). After a while, it will get to be a light "whst". Then you can give it some good shakes, relieving the pressure every couple of shakes. The sound will be your clue. Early on you can tell a lot of gas has been released, later less gas.
