2010 Group Build-Get your list together before the Dec. Meeting! [Archive]

I saw a great new model by Andy Martin on another board, it was part of his club's group build.

The idea: Make a list of 5 of your model car projects that you really want to build, but for one reason or another haven't finished (or started). From that list of 5 projects, everyone else involved votes what they'd like to see you build, and you build what they chose from your list.

Any takers? Sounds like a fun group project w/o everyone having to build the same thing, and you'll end up w/one of your overdue models being finished.

Great list...but sneaking the Gunze Daytona in vs. an HRM....you're making my vote a lot tougher :rolleyes::biglaugh:

I have my list of 5, but I'll post them later this week in case I want to make any changes :D

Porsche Carrera Langcheck LM - Started. This is the new mid-engine Carrera with roof and rear bodywork of the '97 GT1 added.

Ferrari 599xx - Not started. This is 599 + new transkit.

Ferrari 599 GT1 - Started. This is a 599 converted to full race.

Ferrari 250 GTO - Not started. This will be a black 250.

Ferrari 430 GT2 Risi - Started. This is a S27 resin kit.

My problem was getting my project list down to just five. So before I change my mind here is my bucket list......

Ferrari 250GTO (will finish in blue with yellow trim) - un-built.
Corvette C5 Homologation (1998) - on the sketch pad.
Cadillac "Uptown" converted to CTS-V Speed Challenge - on the sketch pad.
70' Buick Skylark converted to 71' convertible - on the sketch pad.
Toyo GT-One (Martin Brundle version ARMCO not included) - 40%.

It's not a problem & you have no idea what the group will vote for based on your individual lists. The chances of you both getting that particular model chosen isn't particularly high, and if you do, that's fine.

Bob, about the only thing I've done so far is clean up parts and sand mold lines. I've glued the lower front end to the body and filled the "Daytona" window on the roof of the car. Since the real work hasn't started yet I don't have much to share about the model kit for now.

I started the lower body pan and paint detailed the suspension and "frame" engraving.

I'll probably regret it but I cut out the left side door. :eek:

I have the same kit and transkit myself but I didn't list it with my others cause i'm too scared of it !!!!:eek:
