Thanks for the awesome pics Bob! I'm surprised you didn't get a shot of the Mugenismo.

So, Bob, distracted by "Oh look a squirrel" distraction or just plain old model distractions? LOL
Chris
Would like to have been there, but was having more fun freezing my ass off in upstate NY.

Nice photo & beautiful cars in progress. That VW bus looks very interesting, how the side doors gonna be hinged(B pillar door frame seems awfully narrow to hide a hinge)? What kit is that? Are doors & roof opened up or kit came in that way? Can't wait to see it done.
Anybody is aware of any local model car group in Raleigh Durham area? I wish there's a place I can go & exchange knowledge monthly here in central NC.

There's a list of North Carolina clubs at this link but I don't know if they are still active or how close/far they are from you.

Thanks, the VW is the new Revell AG VW Samba T1 that I'm building for Scale Auto review; a very detailed kit with about 150 parts. Multipiece body makes it easy for them to include nearly in-scale hinges; problem is you cannot test fit the parts more than once since the hinge pins are so tiny they shear off when you remove the doors. I'm not sure if I'll glue the doors, or now that the roof is in place they fit decently & tightly, so I may just keep them as a friction fit. The model builds from the bottom up; engine, chassis, interior, and you then start gluing the body sides to the chassis/interior plate. The chassis/interior fit great, body panels are a PITA to mask/paint/mask/paint as it's a 2 tone exterior, 3 tone interior, all on one part. Roof goes on nearly last, but it helps to align everything perfectly. It's almost done, has to be in WI by the 15th. It looks pretty nice at this point, even with my "looks like a used car" paint job ;)
