...but when did they take model kits out of WalMart, Target, etc.?

I haven't really done any modeling for about 10 years now, but it seems like Hobby Lobby, Michael's, JoAnn's, and HobbyTown are the only choices most of us have.

As I'm getting back into the hobby, I thought I'd just check around and see who has what in terms of paints, etc. Surprise!

I may not want to know how out of touch I am.

No problem, I was out of the hobby for 40 years! Talk about relearning...

My experience:

Hobby Lobby - best prices (especially if you use the frequent 40% off coupon), moderate selection of models, poor to moderate selection of supplies.

Hobby Town - best selection of models and supplies, moderate to list prices.

Michaels & JoAnns - poor selection, list prices. No supplies to speak of.

Another choice is AAA Hobbies on Roswell Rd. in Marietta. They concentrate almost exclusively on military, especially aircraft, but they do have a fairly decent inventory of supplies.

BTW - the Hobby Town I was referring to is the one off Barrett Pkwy. in Kennesaw. They're the largest around.

Either the local stores you mentioned or on-line is the way to go. check Hobby Lobby and Michaels web sites for discount coupons, etc. Alos check the ACME website (www.acme-ipms.com) for a list of vendors who supported our show last year.

Is she just squinting to get a better view of Russia or trying to determine if that's Cheney or Limbaugh coming over the horizon?

Can't be Cheney, because if it were there would be blood spurting from her irritated eye ;)
