Dino Scuderia

Began this project in 2005...just getting back to finishing it.
Started with the Revell 612 kit and added material to reshape the nose and build in a rear spoiler similar to 360 Stradale Challenge. Also installed a hood from a Viper and matching vents on the side.
A front splitter was added to the chassis which will be painted dark gunmetal.
The body color is Pontiac Lucerne Blue.
Rims are Aoshima 20" Traffic Star RTM's painted Testors Magnesium metalizer.

Brian:
I remember when you started on this and I'm glad to see it nearing completion. I truly like what you've done with this. Great color as well. Maybe there is hope for some of those models sitting in my WIP containers.

Looks great as usual and I love that color. Who makes the paint?

It is beautiful. Very tastefully done. Please finish it soon. I'd love to add it to my photo collection.
BTW, from photo I see deep offset (2-3 scale inches) around windshield frame, which makes it look like the clear plastic whindshield will be 2-3 scale inches offset from the frame instead of flush mount as on the actual car. Is it really that thick or just the picture angle? With kit body and windshield opening being thick, I usually opt for flush mount windshield cut from thin clear pvc & glue it in from outside. I consider my successful rate is 50 50, but when I nail it, the realism is worth it.
As we often see modeler's beautiful works only suffer from manufacture's design by default. I have high hope for your project becasue I really like what I see, thus shamelessly put in my 2 cents...!
Thanks for reading.

Like most modern Revell kits, what you are seeing is the area where the windshield installs...from outside. It's a flush fit.

Thanks for the info. I concerned too much in this case. All the power to Revell....!

Revell keeps getting better & better on their Ferraris; at least if they don't forget to put the body inside the box
Here's a view of my 612 finished, with the flush windshield. My 612 was inspired by Brian's...I saw it, had to build one, got his okay to go ahead with it (used a Viper hood like he did, but different vents on hood/side).

Yes; 612 hood is completely devoid of any shape, it's just smooth w/no scoops. The Dodge Viper hood fits the opening quite well and has more visual "oomph"...center scoop and vents to the side.

Here is a 'work in progress' thread on this build where you can see how I modified the Viper hood to fit.

Proof again that money and good taste do not go hand in hand. (Yes, Yes, Yes, I know I left the door open verrrrry wide on this one).
