Hi, Guys.

I know many of you have basements/rec rooms full of kits, but I'm guessing that a few of you are still in search of a particular model you want to build soon. If you're building late-model cars or hot rods, you might be able to find what you need at Hobby Town or Hobby Lobby, but if you live in the past like me, then the kit you want will be out of production. (I long for the days of Auto Motiff. I didn't know how good I had it then.)

Anyway, I have looked at numerous sites on the net, and I was wondering -- without giving away your secret supplier -- if you have a particular site that has usually helped you out. So far I've checked out:

Model Roundup
Gasoline Alley Antiques
JimNOhio
Old Plastic Model Kits
Megahobby
Hobbylinc
eBay
iOffer

What sites am I missing?

I know the shows are usually the place to find things. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the show in AL this weekend (but I will be at the meeting on Sunday).

Lastly, I wanted to ask about scale. Would a 1:25 car look out of place next to a 1:24 truck? Revell seems to do a ton (all?) of their stuff in 1:24, but AMT seems to be 1:25. Can you mix them? (One look might make it perfectly clear to me.)

Thanks for your input!

I found every kit I wanted...and some I didn't know I wanted on ebay about 12 years ago....then of course a lot of them have been reissued since then for a fraction of what I paid for them.

Luckily I did a fair share of selling on ebay for profit to cover some of that 'cost'.

I've found the best bargains on stuff I never knew I needed at model shows. :) Get there early...

I agree, model shows are the #1 place to find old rare kits & the stuff didn't even know exist.
My search order is always: 1. model shows, 2. eBay, 3. online outlets

Don't forget option #4... make friends! One of my very best friends, a member of this club, knew I had been searching for a kit for about ten years; one day he shows up and says, "here" and hands me one. Thanks Zoom!
