Ferrari's 599 GTB - links w/pics

Lots of negative vibes from people seeing Ferrari's 575 Maranello replacement, the 599 GTB. It will have 620 HP, so it can blow right past the unsettled masses ;)

I hated this car at first. Now I'm warming to it quickly, I'm amazed that the more I look at the above picture and the others, the more I really like the car. Not sure how I'll feel when I see it in person. Most people don't like it so far. I love the front end and the single taillights reminiscent of the 275 GTB. If they fire the Japanese stylist, they'll get it right ;)

LOL, Looks like a 612, F430, and a little 575.
Interesting looking to say the least. I'll have to reserve my comments until I can get a look at one.

I'm not into it like I was the 550/575's, but as you siad I think it too will grow on me.
Maybe they need to contact Michael Bay and put this into Bad Boys III, you know, for exposure....

With Challenge rims the car is far less diabolical looking :D

They should learn not to take high vantage point pics of the car, they don't flatter it, at least from the front. Has that same sag/bend in the middle like the C6 like it's been stepped on.

Interesting shots w/an F40, but they really should compare it w/the 275 GTB as that's the car this one most closely emulates:

Having it in the same pic with an F40 is a disgrace to the F40.

Sometimes I have to wonder why it seems so easy to improve upon a modern Ferrari. Ferrari needs to quit screwing around; the 599 is a great modern take on the 275 GTB. Therefore getting rid of the goofy fender vent and adding some simple 275 style vents and voila, a better Maranello successor:

Looks best in silver because silver is such a non-Ferrari color like this non-Ferrari design.

I'd build one in white, since I so fondly remember that white/red 275 at the dealer a couple years back that was drop dead gorgeous.

A few more refinements, from here it's just a waiting game for plastic.

I like cars that I despised at first and then begrudgingly accepted or even loved later on (350Z was a classic example). The 599 is one of those cars that made me puke, but now I see tons of potential even if it wasn't realized by Ferrari. Enough of that, I had fun trying my hand at restyling.
