Final assembly wasn’t easy; though all sub-assemblies were. There was a problem w/the chassis being somewhat warped from the rear axle area back, and it took me awhile to figure how to get the chassis glued in place w/o resorting to using some giant clamp. This didn’t surface until the interior was assembled and glued in place, test-fits didn’t have the problem.

I really like the outcome, though I’d say I rushed a few areas that could have been a bit better. The interior color is okay but I could have toned it down more though it shows much brighter on my screen than on the model ;) The hood still shows a small area where I had to repair a recurrent blister. The screen mesh (brass) is nearly impossible to paint w/o still showing some brass; too much paint will flood the screen and fill it all in.

It was certainly fun to build. I’m happy w/the modified coachwork-the revised “C” pillar, the additional side vents, the Viper hood w/vents, the larger vents in the front fascia, replacing the stock grille w/mesh. The hood could fit a bit more flush, but that would have been a nightmare to actually accomplish. I do realize this car really satisfies me a lot more than the standard Scaglietti.

Great Job Bob! Your effort shows and your vision is perfect. Congrats on a job well done.

Looks superb.....except for the brightness of the rims.....and the blue seats make a serious looking car on the outside look like some kids tuner IMO.

Your overall styling is statement enough, didn't need anything more to kick it IMO.

100 times better than the original, kudos!

Good job. The wheels make it. I am concerned, though, that the length of time you took to complete it was starting to creep up into what it takes me to complete a box stocker!

Thanks for the comments!

The seats are no brighter than the ones in a BMW Z3 driven by an 81 year old ;)

For them I used TS 44 toned down w/flat clear. I had too little TS 15 to do the job, so that's why I chose TS 44. It's not as bright in person. I took 35% of the color saturation out of my pics that really accentuated the blue. Had I not been in a mood to "git 'er done" I would have mixed TS 44 and TS 15 and airbrushed it.

The wheel finish suits my vision perfectly. You can put black rims on it after my funeral ;) Of course by then the fashion will be for wide whites and baby moons on Ferraris.

Paul, this model took so long only because it didn't get destroyed

Instead of crushing it-a point I reached at least three times during the build and I was not only ready to happily crush it but also take pics of the aftermath-I just put it down and forgot about it. I had similar problems/lack of interest building my "old" Saleen Focus which seemed to be built over a similar time period (started in the summer) for a B'ham debut. And let's not forget the Mustang GT that shoved it's way past the Skag in early November :D

Funny when you finish something like this you feel like you're loaded for bear and ready to do something similar w/a totally screwed-up mindset like getting it done before a show in less than two weeks

Looks good and aggressive.

The 612 bar has been set high. I hope my custom 612 turns out as good as Brians and yours.

Having seen this car go through many iterations and reworks as well as almost hitting the wall (literally) three times I think it looks great. The biggest thing I've learned from bob over the last three years is not to give up on a project. My 350Z is one example where I was ready to throw it in the scrap pile and he wouldn't let me, now it's one of my two favorite builds. Can't wait to try my eye at modifying a basic design or two.
