As some of you know, Wayne's gotten another batch of Porsches in, Clay did an outstanding job on our decals and wanted to join in the fun too. The first round of IROC cars from heat #1 was already spoken for. Some of us are nuts enough to be itching to build more.
What to do?
Well, we're now building a second group of Porsches, that's what :eek: :)
The first season of IROC racing consisted of 4 heats and drivers were slowly weeded out, the final heat at Daytona months after the original heats in Riverside got down to a race between 6 drivers. Donohue, Revson, Pearson, Follmer, Unser, and Foyt.
We're building the 6 cars in the configuration that was seen in the final race of that year. Colors/drivers were swapped around from earlier races, headrests added, and straps added to keep the rear windows from popping out under pressure.
So far Clay is building the #3 Pearson car, he was given first choice as he kindly did all the decals for the first-round models and wasn't able to join that group. Wayne, Henry, and myself are building three of the others. We're looking for two more builders to fill out the final 6.
Here's the order of cars:
1. Donohue/orange car (same color as Brian's heat #1)
2. Revson/Aubergine purple car (same color as Dr. Bob's heat #1)
3. Pearson/Magenta car (Panther Pink/same color as Danny's heat #1)
4. Follmer/Yellow car (same color as my #3 Revson car in heat #1)
5. Unser/Acid Blue car (same color as Steve Linngren's heat #1)
6. Foyt/Guards Red car (same color as Eric's heat #1)
