BMW kept the final three sports cars from the Spartanburg assembly line prior to the Z4 changeover. They kept a red M Roadster, a white M Coupe, and a blue Z3 convertible for their museum collection. Coincidental colors? I think not!

This final M Coupe is a striking car in person, the white paint and checkered flag decals screamed "build me" when I thought about the M Coupe kit I had at home. Didn't take me long to realize this is a replica I would build from the rare kit.

The car:

The model body and decals:

The decal shapes were created w/tape masks that I made by applying tape to the body and cutting to shape, then I scanned them into my graphics program. Here are the scanned masks (my scanner is crap but you can see the shapes easily):

That is cool Bob! Your work never ceases to amaze.
I've always liked that little M. I think BMW had a really great car their as far as handling and speed. Different design, but definitely cool.
Look forward to this one getting done.
Chris

Your way of making the decals is very clever. I like it. This car is very pretty to me, even though most people bemoan it's uglyness. I got to see a couple autocross today, they're fast too. You're lucky to have this kit, I've been searching high and low for it.

hey Bob, you wouldnt want to print me off a sheet of these decals when you do em would ya? ;) Id like to do something with my M coupe other than letting it collect dust. This is inspiring!
