Could someone help me with the color of this car! I think I could use a mica blue, but what should I spray it over? Thanks, Dennis

Maybe it could be sprayed over a silver??????

I would spray it over Silver Leaf....but....Mica Blue gets dark really fast with each coat you put on. Maybe check the Testors Laquer line for a blue, their paint is more opaque.

If you care to airbrush it, House of Kolor True Blue would be great.

I took a look through my paint stash to see if I had a close match. The only thing that came close was a Model Master Acryl Teal and your color looks much more "bluer" than that. I still haven't tried out the Acryl's yet but Zoom & Dino swear by them. And their color line is just amazing too.

Also, maybe Boyd's (testors) True Blue Pearl, might be a close match.

Looks like that to me as well. It's a very vibrant, true blue. Make sure it's clearcoated in something other than Testors so it won't yellow with age.

This Impala was painted in Tamiya TS 54 Light Blue metallic. It's a good match as well.

Can't resist showing this version LOL! I cringe every time I see vintage Impalas anymore...so often you get this...

There are numerous True Blue colors out there which would be perfect. HOK, Testors, MCW. But as Brian said the more you add the darker it will be. Probably primer in gray or white and lay on light even coats. Definetely clear with Tamiya or HOK clear and rub out. Will be a killer build. Looking forward to seeing it. Danny

I ordered some Tamiya Blue today and also some pearl clear!! The blue is just a plain blue, I think the pearl clear will give me a cool color change!! We shall see!! Dennis

The pearl clear is kind of lame; it's not very noticeable except on a really dark color.

Man that's a beautiful Chebie.
I like it so much better than the commonly seen white over red combo.
