I've heard people say that Kit Scratch Out scratch and haze remover worked well on polishing model paint, and my preliminary test with it seems to echo that sentiment. While I haven't tried it on fresh paint, it worked well on older Gunze acrylic, older Testors enamel, and 2 month old Tamiya lacquer.
Haven't tried it against the other good ones that are safe chemically on model paint (Novus #2, Meguiars Scratch X, Tamiya Compound, 3M light duty rubbing compound) but I suspect it's pretty similar. It smells good too.
A 7 oz. bottle of this polish was under 2 bucks at Wally World. I've never been so proud to be a skinflint in all my life ;) :D
I have a couple of white paint jobs coming up soon where I'll test the polish on paint that's just dry enough to polish out.
