Just a friendly reminder that there is less than 6 months left to get this project ready for it's big debut.

There are currently 3 cars that are basically complete. How are the remaining 12 coming along? I've seen some at model-palloozas and know some are about 1/2 way done or better.

If anyone needs help, I'm willing to do what I can. :D

I'm not trying to rush anyone, but trying to help avoid a real race to the November 11th finish line.

We would very much like to get photos of the finished cars (prior to their driver and sponsor markings) this summer; July is the date we're pushing for.

My car only needs those final decals and the driver's seat/seatbelts and it's finished.

Paul's status:

1. Body painted (thanks to Zoom Zoom)
2. Engine complete
3. Front suspension complete
4. Rear suspension in progress

Next to work on in the near future:

5. Complete rear suspension
6. Install engine
7. Detail the wheels (center opening and valve stems already drilled)
8. Paint headliner

The July date is achievable for me.

What is the best way to do the headlights? My cursory view was to just paint the kit piece semi-gloss black. Are there better ways?

Headlights: use the thinner of the bezels, and the thicker of the lenses (there are two sets, see photos of our models). The lense itself protrudes from the bezel, especially at the top as it is tapered.

Assemble the lense to the bezels and then paint the units semigloss black (Tamiya TS flat black is okay as it has a satin sheen).

Great news Paul.

So only 11 more people to hear from now. :)

Pictures please! And maybe a link to your album. Don't you have pics from Amelia somewhere?

Engine install is so simple in this kit it's amazing. Even though it's totally different config. vs. a front engine car, the whole unit just goes up to the chassis and mounts to the locator holes with zero drama. Okay, now that I've said that somebody will have a snafu now  :D

Jenn's reply sure looks like it was cut and pasted from mine! ;)

Body: Repairing damage from clear coating the Paint Scratch paint. If you have any of their paint only use Gunze B501 clear:eek: or you will be doing the same thing I am. Need to paint trim and add mirrors and headlights after clear coating repaired body.

Chassis: complete, need to mount wheels and tires after body is on chassis.

Interior: complete except for mounting seat.

Engine: mounted in chassis, need to add exhaust after mounting the body and chassis.

sounds like too much mounting:p
