I should know this, but I have forgotten, what color is everyone using for theunpainted fiberglass fan shroud on the engine?

I don't even remember; I eyeballed the color and mixed it from the pics of the engine outside of the Allison/Gulf Blue car that's in Matt's Fotki album. Hence everyone's shroud is a different color, maybe Wayne or Eric or Matt can give you a better answer. Since the engines are optional for the group build and not very visible, we're not worried over an exact match because I don't know if we really know what the best color is to replicate the shroud.

I used a Tamiya acrylic that was tan colored and added a little bit of desert yellow. Mine is a little too brown, desert yellow alone would be a pretty close match.

Real modelers use real fiberglass...none of that paint stuff.

I used desert yellow with a light wash of clear smoke
