My modeling slump finally lifted and I started playing with this little gem.
Simply put, I wanted to just build it straight from the box. No special this or thats. No full blown anything. A simple get over the slump build.

Body painted in Tamiya Bright Red, the hood and bottom body panels are Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black.
I hope to have it finished in another week or two.

I'm sure some of you have seen this thread elsewhere. Just disregard otherwise.

This looks nice so far. How is the fit of the kit?

There are a few guys emerging out of slumps, and that is always a good thing.

Thanks Matt, I have come upon a problem. I'm doing my best to not let it deter me.
The headers are supposed to go on after the engine is in the chassis as well as the front suspension. I have yet to figure out how they attach without being lower than the front wheels.
Small things like that will put me oout so to speak, but I'm just going to move on and work on the kit and try the headers again later.
If anyone has this kit and can suggest better than the kit instructions on how these are to be applied I would be forever grateful.

I didn't have the same kit 20 years ago but I had the same problem with a Stang. I ended up finding a set of headers in my spare parts bins......I'm thinking they were left over from a old 40' Ford and the sweep was enough to get past the lower suspension and stay snug to the body pan.
One option is to build some headers from scratch. Chip Rymer did a workshop on this very thing in one of our CARS club meeting. He took soldering wire and formed it to any shape needed and made a beautiful set of headers. You can see the pictures here......

Well, I have learned that if you just take a small break and work on other parts of the car you can and will succeed. I sat at the bench last night, grabbed the headers and, like I had done it a million times, just slid them on with no problem.
Back on track once again.
