Or the Prez's new limo ;)

For some odd reason I'll never comprehend I want to build a stock Hummer H2. Being the normal plastic fanatic even though I knew the Revell CSI:Miami H2 w/diecast body was 100% stock, I still "had" to get the plastic kit. In reality I wasted my time and money buying the Blingmaster 2005 H2 that Revell turned the plastic kit into. Actually it's okay with the wheels painted and not so much visible chrome. The diecast model is perfectly fine for the stock builder. Just repaint, the kits are basically identical, the plastic body isn't any better and it might craze when you paint it.

I was in the position of having mild interest for one stock H2, and now had two of 'em (thank you Hobby Lobby for your 1/2 price sales). So being the good Scotsman I had to get my full dollar value out of both. With the ACME Holiday gift swap looming near I decided to give this idea a whirl. I took the silver CSI kit, removed the logos from the doors w/some 99% alcohol, grabbed ACME's logo and resized it and laser printed some decals. I applied them to the doors of the diecast H2 and it looked pretty good. I then built the chassis from the plastic kit (featuring lower ride height and the Mondoblingz wheels) and the interior from the diecast kit (they're the same, just molded in different shades of gray). In a couple hours I had it finished. It ended up with Mike Lawrence first, but Henry grabbed it near the end and now he's the proud owner of the "outcast" H2.

Looks good, nice work with the parts swapping.

Did you install all the subs and other entertainment goodies the plastic kit came with?

Thanks; the interior is full-stock from the diecast kit. I still have all the custom interior stuff.
