I came to the June meeting. It was nice to be at an ACME meeiting again and see many familiar faces and a few new ones. I also brough a friend with me who will also be coming to the NNL. I met Mike who is building that awesome 1/12 scale street rod. He's better than a lot of us old timers. A new Augie Huscano in the making.

Here is my pony car for the upcoming NNL. The Revellogram 1/24 '71 Hemi Cuda. It's Testors Sublime Green. It's been going togther rather slowly. I guess I've been lazy lately. I'm using the MCG P.E. kit to enhance the detail of this kit. Frankly its a crummy kit compared to the '67 GTX. The dashboard looks more like its from the Challenger than the Cuda. Thanks for looking.

Scroll down further to see interior shots in an update post below. Thanks for looking.

I had to scratch build the oil filter as the kit doesn't have one. It took me a few days just to get that fan together. The engine is painted orange. I should have adjusted the photo's color as it looks more reddish. Those chrome valve covers are a pain too. All my previous Hemis have had black ones. The chrome shows up my fingerprints quite easily.

These old Monogram 1/24 scale models were a breath of fresh air back when they came out; many kits from just before that era were pretty much unbuildable and boring subjects. That said, this kit is on the simplistic/crude side compared to the giant strides in realism they made in the 90's. Still a fun kit, but if you want accurate details you have to be doing a good bit of kitbashing and whatnot. They look great when finished regardless. I sure wish Revell had done a '70 Hemi Cuda back when they were making kits like the GTX/Chargers.

Good to see you at the meeting yesterday.

Here's an update. I finally completed the interior so let me know if it looks OK. I have MGC P.E. to help it out. The dashboard is inaccurate. It looks more like a Dodge Challenger dashboard than from a 'Cuda from the photos I can find.

Look at the driver's door and see the "cuda" script through the steering wheel spokes.

Here are some more shots. The body is partly detailed. BMF on the front and rear window trim. I'll do the sides later because I know handling may slide it off the sides. Notice the PE in my grillwork. I also detailed up the battery.
The head and tail lights suck on this kit. Actually all the exterior lights suck.

I used a strip of rubber I cut to make the underhood seal around the vents on top of the firewall.

And I detailed my wheels and tires.
