Yeah, you knew it was coming.
Pushed again. Not sure of a date yet. The Daytona is still scheduled for 6/30, but if the Police car and the R/T have been pushed, I would surely suspect that the Daytona will also be pushed.
I hope not, lots of interest in these cars.

I can surely quit posting the information if you like. I'm sure someone cares. IF not I'll not post any more info.

I care.

Please do not let him run you off. I've deleted reply. I guess if he wants this forum to get nasty like the others he knows how to get it started.

Bob, it doesn't bother me. I had no intentions of leaving the forum.
Trust me, I had a much longer reply but thought better of posting it.
Just like to get the information out their as an FYI to the modeling public.
Thanks
Chris

The delays don't bother me as I've got a full plate of Porsche and pony car projects to build this year, but I am looking forward to getting the police and Daytona versions of the kit at some point. The later in the year, the better the chances of 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby :D . $30 retail on these kits is going to be uglier than the styling, at least to some people  :D

Pretty the Charger is not, but I do like them. In a lot of respects the Charger/Magnum/300 are like chopped and channeled trucks.

The 300 and Magnum seem to fit the basic design better, the Charger looks odd in the middle section.

I've gotten used to it, but it isn't a natural look for the style of car. They were trying too hard to make it look like a Charger after they decided to call it a Charger (another reason to hate on marketing people). If you remember the really odd/fugly Hemi 8 showcar, you can see exactly where they got their "inspiration" for this car. Everyone remembers the cool original Charger sedan concept, everyone would like to forget the ugly Hemi 8. I anticipate seeing more than a few of the kits made into coupes.

Mark me down for converting one into a Magnum. The only problem would be the color.....what about Midnight Blue!!!!!

You mean a Magnum or a Magnum w/a Charger front end? Revell's got a Magnum SRT-8 on the way, 1/25 scale (Charger is 1/24).

I want to make the Magnum SRT-8 w/the 300C front end, like they sell in Europe.

Yes.....Modeling: The land of compromise and scratch building. Maybe by the time all the dust is settled someone will have a Magnum front clip in resin.

A few weeks ago on Overhauling they did the switch between the Magnum and 300 front clip.

Let's see...anticipated release of the first Charger is 6/30...hmmm...

Last year they announced the plastic Chargers at the IPMS Nationals in July. We took pics of the quick mockup box they had on display.

The marketing guy said that they were hoping to have them out by the end of '05.

I told Paul Wehner (Glacier Modeler) that we'd most likely "see them about this time next year".

Which is about a month from now.

Damn marketing idiots never have a clue   :D

Model kits historically take about a year to develop and get to market (save for Revell's previous efforts that stretched a year by a factor of three). I didn't figure Testors had some magic pill to cut the development time in half.

I'm going to be so ready to build some 'Murrican iron after all these Porsches and Ferraris :D
