Watch this thread; we're having a 24 Hours of LeMans palooza from the start of the race to the finish. Several ACME members are building LeMans endurance racers to celebrate. Models must be finished by the end of the race, and prepped only with primer before the start.
We'll update as we progress. A couple of ACME members will be working on their IROC cars instead of LeMans racers.
Should be a fun weekend! Hope you guys going to the Braselton Bash take some good pics (and lots of sunscreen and water)! ACME can host an album from that as well.

Well, we've been working since 11:00 AM Saturday morning and I just finished a Ferrari 312P Berlinetta ( a Fisher kit). I decided I did not like the resin exhaust so I built new ones from aluminum tubig, orimed and painted flat white, also added Sakatsu gas filler caps, shifter, and body latches. Painted the model with Tamiya Italian Red over Tamiya Pink as a primer, no clear coat, just Tamiya polishing compound, ScratchX and Tamiya wax.
Bob finshed two Porsche 904's that look awespme and Matt is finshing a killer GT40, and Mike is wrapping up the #3 Corvette C5R, which looks great as well. I'll post additional pictures as they wrap up their builds. I believe Bob has posted pictures from earlier today as well.

  WOW!!!!! You guys have done a great job. I think you
have found a way for Mike to get a model finished;) . Just limit
Mike to 24 hrs. Oh, I will have my car done by the end of the race.
But I like working a little at a time.I don't like dropping painted bodies
and having to start over. See you later:D :D :D

This project was a blast guys. It was definately more challenging than I thought it would be going into it. But after 20 hours it's nice to have my first GT40 completed.
Here are the pics I took:

I don't know what happened to my 5:30 am update I posted from Wayne's w/pics, but he covered it later.
I finished up the 904's at about 4 am, though the red one went into the project prepainted (not polished). That was going to be the one, but 11th hour I decided to restore the silver one, glad I did as I really like it.
Really fun time; I've now had about 2 hours of naps and today I'm going to be dragging
Next year I'll build something a bit more meaty than a 28 piece kit ;)

I just realized I forgot to BMF the exhaust shield. Crap. I kept putting that off, and forgot about it.

I want to add a few thoughts now that I've had a real night's sleep :D
We had a great time and what really amazes me how everyone stepped up to the challenge and not only built and finished their models, but they did them so well. You won't look at any of them as "quickie" builds. Every one of them looks fantastic.
Most amazing is the job on the Corvette. Mike never has finished a plastic kit before. Ever. And he knocks the first one out of the park. The paint job is incredible. So incredible we played a prank on him w/another body that was half-stripped and then quickly sprayed w/yellow and we switched them out in the dehydrator.

It was a lot of fun. It felt good to finish my first model finally. I never thought it could be done, and it was, in 24hours none the less. I want to do the same thing again next year. I am already trying to figure out what kit I want to build next. I need to get a dehydrator too.
Having Matt, Wayne, Bob, and Eric to guide me there really helped a lot. Couldnt have done it with out the great group.
