Ok, guys. Let's play a game. A game of "what is he building?" Let's see what's going on here, shall we?

Well, it appears to be some sort of pre-50's vehicle. Maybe you recognize it, perhaps you do not. It is purposely generic. All handles and hinges were shaved, as were some panel lines. It won't be all green, either, I don't think. That color is the color the scallops will be, the main color will be a dark gray that's almost black.

Most of today went into this darling. It's some sort of tube frame. The front axle hasn't been built yet, but the rear has. Boy, that axle is pretty high up! If I didn't know better, I'd think I were up to some sort of nonsense!

Here are the major components. Make of them what you will, but the biggest clue will be in the following picture.

Everything is together and mocked up. The car will ride a good bit higher than it is, the body is just laying on the chassis which is still kind of stuck to the plan. It should be pretty clear now what I'm building, right?

It is Tamiya's 1:48 11CV. It's going to be a generic old car styled gravity racer - like a soapbox derby car but implying a larger budget. Something a little different to play with, to kind of mix it up. It's for fun.

Almost done! I've got to get the wheels on yet, and have some bolt heads and dzus fasteners and things to get on, but my glue/clear paint is packed away. Should be done with photos tonight, so please forgive me if I end up flooding this place with posts today....

I speak fluent Bostonian. You should appreciate the following.

Wicked pissa! :D

Bottom pic almost reminds me of the go carts we used to ride in Hanover.
