Juan Montoya and Chip Ganassi just held a press confrence in Chicago. Juan will be in Nextel Cup next year full time. He will also run some Busch races. He'll be in the #42 car. Unbelievable!!

It's true......
It is going to be interesting based on the fact that they usually bring cross over drivers up through the lower ranks no matter what the experience.

As long as he isn't in F1, I don't care where he lands.

I think it's good for NASCAR to finally get more international in it's DNA...with Toyota coming on strong and now this latest news.
However I don't think Juanker has the temperament to deal with this type racing and personalities within it. Will be interesting to watch...and I can see all the underlying soap opera type stories which follow F1 around beginning to appear in this series as NASCAR becomes more diverse.

On speed last night they mentioned that putting Montoya in a car is a marketing plan to get more Latinos into the stands. I don't care what your race is, if you are a racing fan, you're a racing fan, and you're gonna go to the races.
I don't go to golf tournaments just cause a white guy is hitting the ball. I'm baffled if that is even close to the truth.

I didn't like him in F1 and I won't like him in NASCAR. I agree with Brian, it's going to be interesting to see how he deals with the attitudes and personalities in NASCAR.
Now, if Kimi moves to Ferrari... I will have my favorite driver in my favorite car....
........ hmmmm, I'll have to by a new hat !!! LOL

Big news but certainly a big yawn for Juan. He didn't do anything in F1, but his abrasive style of driving will be perfect for NA$CAR. They'll probably make him change his name to "JP" and send him for voice lessons to get a southern drawl.

With the Car of Tomorrow on the horizon maybe it's perfect timing coming in now.

I agree that Juan tends to let people and circumstances get into his head and mess him up. He'll have to get over that fast!! There's a ton of joke I could go with but i'll leave it alone!! I'll let Ricky Bobby in the new movie say it all !!!! hehehehe
