I finished it yesterday. The kit goes together real well. It was my 1st motorcycle kit.

I used various shades of alum. I used products like BMF, Alclad Chrome, SnJ powder, Testors alum. metallizer and "chrome" spray. For the gold effects I used a gold laquer with SnJ powder to give at that gold/silver effect.

Some of the white parts like the mirrors are unpainted, but I brushed a coat of Future on them. The wheels are just polished and waxed. The seat and fuel tank are flat white primer, then decaled and about 6 coats of Future airbrushed on. Also I drilled out all the holes in the front brake rotors. They were molded half bored. It was easy with a pin vise, but a lot of holes.

I chose to leave the shrouding clear to show off the detail. But the kit does have the decals and it could have been painted white. Also it fits very well in those display cases for 1/25 scale cars, but the taller type cases.

I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.

 Cool Rice Rocket!!! Are you going to paint 1/2 of the fairing and leave
the other side clear? I saw a 1/1 scale bike done that way at a cycle
show. Are we going to see you and your fine projects in the fall?

Thanks for the compliment. That's a good idea, painting the fairing on one side. Perhaps I'll do that before I start my next project. It will easily come back off as it is screwed on. And the bottom piece just snaps on. Of course you'll see it. I was planning on coming back for the Oct. meeting. And don't forget the NNL. You saw my green '71 Hemi Cuda at the last meeting.

You know, this has been my most productive model building year in quite a few years. With the job changes and moving around. But this year I finished my Sox & Martin GTX, built the '71 Hemi Cuda and now just completed this bike.

Nice work on the bike

Tamiya bikes are fun; part of the fun is getting results like this even when it's your first bike. I remember my first Tamiya bike well.. loved building it and it looked great, but I gave it, and my second one, away to friends who rode the bikes I had built

Great build. I like how you kept the clear cowling I haven't seen too many builds where they've kept that on.
I keep inching closer and closer to doing some bike builds myself. I see that the new Revell bikes flew off the shelves too.

Mike:

Your buld quality is outstanding, I really like the various metallic shades and textures on the bike, great idea leaving the cowling clear as well. Kepp up the great work and it was great to see you at the meeting.

The details are nicely done on this. Well done.

The clear cowling looks a bit unfinished. I like the idea of painting one half and leaving one half clear.
