Seems like half of the ACME club and a couple of CARS members drove a Cayman S yesterday and nobody complained about any lack of power :D Just a matter of perspective, of course ;)

Hobbylink has all this stuff available for preorder now. Revell Germany is doing the 599 as well, should be out in December or so. The US is getting the Revell SA by March, IIRC.

Nothing exceeds like excess, Bob.

Balance really nice in Cayman, can really tell at limit how much more rigid it is than
Boxster. All it needs is a couple hundred more bhp. :p

But then it'd be a Boxer...actually, you can get an adequate Boxer for not much more than a hard loaded Cayman S, and the nicest 308B QV on the planet for less than a regular Cayman. Perspective :D

Can't wait for the FXX, 599, and SA. Veyron, no. Type 59 yes. 906/910 yes.

BTW, I have a Lindberg 1/24 906, really pretty nice item. Where did that come from/go to? Great basis for a full detail 906. Someone did a 910 as well, haven't seen one up close.

Check background of transporter pic carefully. You may see some other interesting items ;)

Good find! Sounds like it is indeed a modified version of their Enzo, should end speculation that it might be a new simplified kit with a diecast chassis :)

I scoured Ferrarichat for some color information on the FXX. From what I can gather, the 31 cars were mostly Rosso Corsa, but a few other colors are in the mix.

2 black cars, one w/stripes, one w/o (Schumacher's car)
1 all-carbon car (Jean Todt's personal ride)
1 pearl white
1 silver
1 blue TDF
1 Azzuro CA
1 yellow
? Rosso Scuderia

Eric wants to do silver, I want to do the Azzuro California. Tamiya is supposedly doing the decals to do all 29 customer cars (Schumacher's and Todt's cars aren't part of the 29 customer car deal).

Seems like the FXX has become "the" group project for the exotic side of the room in '07 :D

If I may interject with a proposal here.
I'd love to do one of these for your show, but time and money will not allow me to make a trip to GA.
I would propose building one that hasn't been taken, in any color scheme, and sending it to Bob when finished.
I can and will take pictures of the work in progress to try and fit into your photo sessions.
I know I'm not a member, but you guys are the closest thing I have to a real club.
That is, if this is proposed for your 2007 show.
Thoughts or remarks?
Chris

That could work; though we're still just in the "what if" stage. We do this every year, usually when some new kit come out; this year many of us built IROC cars as our breakout for the official theme, and there are a group of guys "from the other side of the room" doing the same with '69 Camaros :)

We're also going to have a special '07 NNL category; our official themes are "Gold and Diamonds" which are cars of '57 (gold anniv.) or '32 (diamond anniv.), build any car from either of those years. However we'll also have a web theme, sort of what the NNL East did this year for Revell Mustangs. Our web theme will be LeMans cars, to celebrate 75 years of LeMans in '07, as they started the race in 1932. So build any LeMans racer you want for that theme as well.

You're gonna have to beat me to the Tour de France blue one. And I already have the E.Jan FXX transkit in my hands thanks to Wayne. :D I don't know what color my Tamiya FXX will be though, but my first one will definately be of the blue shade. Scuderia Red probably for my second one.

Bonus points if you knew it happened, and who was driving.:D

:D Was the crashed car in Homestead owned by a certain drive-in/flea market
owner out driving while in the care of a cetain Doc.Daniels?:D Or it could
have been his wife talking on the phone.

Latest scoop on the Fujimi BB's is that they're using the parts layout from the 1/16 kit to promote it, and it's going to have 200 parts. Sounds like another foray into Enthusiast territory  :)

Of course I'd be happy if it were a curbside

Theres a pic of the parts trees on HLJ. Looks like it could have opening doors and engine cover.

I seriously hope that it's just the 1/16 tree and no opening doors. If it ends up w/actually 200 parts and opening doors, detail freaks can knock themselves out silly with it, while I build something else.

I don't care much for opening doors because they rarely seem to fit right but I do like the idea of detailed engine and chassis, etc...

That parts breakdown looks scary - very much like the Marui 512, and that body is a b!@#h to assemble, much less paint. Opening doors? No thanks. Hopefully they'll be easier to glue shut than the Marui kit. I do think that is the 1/16th scale kit parts tree schematic though, because that shows metal springs and wiring. Seriously doubt springs would be included, even in an Enthusiast kit.
