I've finally found some time to do a little bit of modeling since moving, and have started a Dodge Viper Coupe.

I found pics of the McLaren powered Diamondback by ASC, and knew I had to build my model with that intake.

I don't plan on building a replica of this show car. I'll just borrow the parts I really like.

I started with the most noticeable change to the car, the intake trumpets. I used part of the kit intake and some styrene rod to attach the trumpets to. The trumpets are Sakatsu turned aluminum parts.

I'm fairly happy with the result. They could sit a bit higher, but are fairly close. I may raise the engine up a tad.

There's still a ton of work to do under the hood, but I'm happy with the start.

Cool idea. Any idea what color you are planning?

Matt, I'm sure you will do this build justice. Can't wait to see it finished. It looks killer already.

Thanks guys.

I haven't decided on colors yet, but I'm leaning towards a orange with black stripe combo. The stripes will be Carbon fiber decal. I will probably use the same single stripe that is on the Diamondback and not 2 racing stripes.

Matt: Looks great and to echo other comments you will do this justice. At the SEMA show a year ago I saw a Viper with stripes that were the same color as the car but in semi-gloss. Let me know if youwant pictures.
