RC2 is trying to unload AMT; they've stopped development of the kits being tooled; therefore the '07 Challenger, the Foose Full Throttle cars, and one other kit are all being cancelled, and they're ceasing kit production sometime later this year. They're looking for a buyer. AMT has been through this before, in the long run it's better to get them out of RC2's inept hands. Hopefully someone will have the means to buy them and do a better job of marketing and development than we've seen in recent years.

With guarded optimism this could be a really good thing...AMT has suffered greatly after RC2/Racing Champions bought them. They're the ones that fired all the kit/car gurus, and moved everything to China. The Chinese production is a given, but they gutted the company of people with the know-how to do kits the right way and w/o so many mistakes.

Yeah, it could be a good thing for sure.

Can't be any worse. At least outside of RC2 AMT might HAVE a future. What really sucks that most of you don't know about is that AMT entered the aircraft kit market - and they rocked the establishment. Their kits were 98% Hasegawa or Tamiya quality, way above the likes of Esci or Italeri or Academy (all major players). Even had rubber tires in some 48th scale kits which no other manufacturer was doing except for a few in 32nd scale. They were selling big time, filled some major voids for subject matter, but RC2 killed all aircraft kit production.

Let's hope they come back... with cars and aircraft both.

:( Have you guys seen the theme here?Nascar!! They have fouled up everything they have gotten a hold of.They bought the "Speed" network, bought RC2 and screwed both up and then they get into the sportscar business and dropped the ball. So!,lets all hope that someone like Smith/Barney aka Crayola or Mattel comes throught for all of us.

Ya know, I never thought about it, but Mattel would be a natural fit for the plastic line. Hmmm....
