New to the group.
Just thought I would give a little info and say hello.
Name is John, but my friends call me Johnny. I'm 47, live in Jacksonville,Florida.
Main interest in model building is 70's era funny cars. One of which I've won 1st place with at a local show within the past few years, however I do build just about anything. A few of my recent builds have been the Deora (does'nt everyone have this one), and a 70 Boss Mustang. Both were built box stock. I'll try to post some pic's later.
I've got one unending project going on, that I will try to post pics of as well. It's an extended cab 37 Ford pickup that I saw a drawing in SAE several years ago by one of their artist rendetions(Jarius Watson sounds familiar).
A few details on this project. I usually work on looks ( basically if it looks right it is right). But for those who are detail oriented. It's been stretched approx. 21 scale inches, has a 7 in chop. Tubbed rear end, and basically a completely scratch built chassis I am working on. It's a long way from being complete as it continually morphs into something bigger than expected when started.
In addition to model building I also have 2 real vehicles I am restoring. One is a 56 VW which is getting a custom resto. The other being a 1 owner 64 1/2 Mustang Coupe my Father left me last year. 260 V8 good condition should be an easy restore.
Look forward to being a part of this group. Thanks for having me.
