May meeting photos

ACME's May meeting is in the books, we had a great turnout - 21 in attendance and 41 models on display. Deanna made some delicious goodies for us to snack on :) and Eric gave a fantastic demo on drybrush and paint wash techniques. We talked about the upcoming Goodguys show-get in contact with Wes Hofferber for club member passes and to get on the list for manning the booth at the show; we will need people there on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday. Henry da Prez and Bob H. showed off their models that won awards at the Anniston show on Sat. May 5; congrats to both of them. Our June meeting demo will have all of us contributing our "cheats" and "shortcuts" for building models; Chip Fisher will be heading up that part of the meeting. We'll soon have a date for the annual Model Roundup open house.

Congrats on all the hardware from Alabama. Did you guys leave some awards for other contestants? It looks like you cleaned house.

The Superamerica is mine; it's a review model, so far i'm pretty impressed w/the kit. I shot it Saturday in Mica Red (airbrushed) over a gold base. I used Wayne's new HP-CS, this body was it's maiden voyage. I had a perfect day of painting w/hardly any trash getting into the color or clear.

The GT40 is mine too; I documented it's build/paint job for my airbrush book revision. I forgot to bring Eric's clean "before" version of the same model :(

All in all a great meeting. You need to see the Super America in person to really appreciate the paint job, bob makes it look too easy.
