We had a second-annual LeMans palooza at Brian Venable's house during the 24 Hours of LeMans. Myself, Brian, Henry, and Eric all built LeMans cars during the race. We had a lot of fun, we really missed Wayne who was recuperating from a nasty bug, and we got our cars built. Henry finished his 917 first, my Jaguar E Type Low Drag Aero coupe was second to be finished (just before 1:00 am), and Eric finished up soon after minus decals as the kit decals weren't up to snuff. Brian finished his Renault after a good long nap and before the race finished. Henry got about 3/4 of the way finished on a second model, a Tamiya BMW 320i racer.

After about 2 1/2 hours my sub-assemblies were painted.

Henry finished first.

My progress and Eric's at the point Henry's 917 was finished:

Awesome work guys, wish I could have been there. Im working on my Le Mans build for the year, but its not as quick as 24hours...I'll probably spend 24 hours on the paint alone.

Looks like a really fun time was had by all - wish I could have been there but I was in Rockford having the time of my life. The only downside was the 16 hour drive...

Hope to catch up with you guys soon!

Oh and if you think we have fun machining parts, the wheels on that little 16" Mongoose bike with the three wheels were completely custom made, CNC machined based off of the 20" design.
