First, my personal "Thanks" to all of the people who attended the show, those who displayed their models, the vendors, and to all of the ACME members who supported the show either over the weekend or in the many months leading up to the show. Without an excellent combination of all these elements the 2007 NNL would not have been the success it was.

There were over 700 models on display with 650+ models on display. Jim Haught from Scale Auto was busy all day taking pictures as was Bill Cunningham who photographed cars for Model Cars magazine as Gregg could not make the show. I saw many people walking through the aisles taking pictures and it would have been an impossible task for one person to capture all of the models displayed so if you do not see a picture of your model on the ACME Fotki site be sure to check the pictures Paul Grala posted on his site and alos be sure to check the various forums.

I talked with as many vendor's as I could during the day and they all praised ACME for the manner in which the vendors are treated, from Paul's handling of the registration, Henry's contacting them through out the year, members assisting them with unloading and loading, etc.

The top 10/Best of Show award winners represented various categories of building including several dioaramas, large scale, drag racing, street machines, and NASCAR. Dirk Joseph told me his winning of the "Augie" award was a very special moment for him as well.

Work for the 2008 NNL is under way featuring Mopars and Mercedes as the two main categories with motorcycles as the web-theme. 2008 ballots are being printed as additional place cards for under the models.

Moving the "Make & Take" to a larger room resulted in more models being built and provided the extra room required to allow parents to sit with their children while they built the models. junior modelers to small to particpate in the "Make & Take" were provided with crayons and pictures of various cars to keep them occupied. Special "thanks" to Harry and Sue for once again assisting with this project.

We should all be proud of our show and our club. If you have any ideas to improve next year's show be sure to let us know at the meetings or e-mail me at acme-ipms@comcast.net or via the forum.

Sincerely,
Wayne

Looks like a really great show as always guys. I'm so sorry I couldn"t attend this year. I know I missed a great time. I hope that my health will return enough that I can come back and hang out with all of you even at the meetings. At least I can still keep up with what's happening on the forum. I value all of your friendships and hope to see you again soon. Danny:mad:
